Portfolio > Nature Symbols (Current)

The natural world and humanity’s relationship with it have long been the fundamental driving force in my work. The image of the animal, specifically the horse, is both primordial and uncanny, evoking a deep-seated familiarity between us. I find the context of the natural world profoundly engaging, especially as a way to grapple on a personal level, how I understand myself and relate to the world around me.

I am drawn to the desert landscape as a spiritual space, a space of solitude, enlightenment, and self-discovery. My work explores a nuanced version of the west - with a strong emphasis on symbolism, allegory, and metaphor. As an artist, I feel compelled to explore the horse and the west through a new lens and attempt to reveal a unique voice in the genre.
